Post Fall Show Wrap-up

We are now into December and we just finished our fall shows and pop-up shops for 2021. I know this season started out very slow for us vendors, but we wrapped up strong and have enough to carry us over to the spring. So, thank you all for literally showing up for us (all fiber vendors) this year. You have no idea how much it means to us to be able to continue on.

There was a lot of drama this year, but I am happy that we worked through it. Learning to live with COVID and still be able to have in-person events has been tricky, but I am so happy for the work that everyone did so that we could carry on in the new normal. Next year, we have learned what worked and what didn’t work this year, so I think we’ll be set to have some great shows in 2022.

The landscape did look a little different. Not only were the layouts different but many of our friends, customers, and fellow vendors were missing this year. It was a sad reminder that not every business was able to get through the lockdowns and pivot to make ends meet. And, that there are still very vulnerable friends out there that can’t take the chance of getting sick. I’m happy to see you when it’s safer.

You may have noticed that we now have a 14′ trailer that we’re hauling with our new SUV. The warranty was up on our minivan and we knew we wanted to upgrade to a larger trailer to bring more product to shows, so we have been saving as much as we could in order to afford the down payment on something with a larger towing capacity. I don’t love the larger car payment, but I am totally loving the larger trailer. It’s making traveling to shows a lot easier since we also put our racking on wheels and we are able to do most of the prep work at home before we get there. The trailer took forever to find one that was within our budget and I had to travel to the furthest corner of Massachusetts to get it. But, it’s been a great addition to our company and has saved our backs a lot of wear and tear. Plus, the extra business storage space is a lifesaver for my house and garage.

While we aren’t in a terribly great financial position, I still wanted to continue our tradition of adopting a child in our area for Christmas. We pulled a 10-year-old girl and here is the tag.

If you’d like to contribute to the fund to help us make this a really magical Christmas for her, please use the button below.

Over the next couple of months, we will be focusing on inventory, dyeing up new colorways, restocking, updating the website, getting ready for SPA (yes, we’ll be there!), and some home improvement projects that we’ve been itching to get started. As always, if you want a colorway dyed up that I don’t have in stock, please feel free to email me and I’m happy to get that done for you.

I hope you all have a great holiday season!
